Default First and probably last time dock diving :)

So we went to a Splash Dogs event yesterday. We had a great time and Mikko learned to jump off the dock. He only gets about 5 feet, but I was just happy he did it

I think we'll stick with agility!

Waiting our turn:

What a great video! Too funny how you always see it look so easy and wonder if they do have to figure it out

Aww, but at least he jumped! I tried this with Alex during the practices in-between the heats at the Doglympics, and we didn't even get past the 'swimming in water' phase. The guy there was really helpful and patient, and wanted us to get our dogs used to the exit ramp first. She did decent on the ramp, but the second her feet couldn't touch it in the water anymore, she freaked out. For a few seconds, her paws were flailing, and she was trying to figure out what the eff was going on. But after she realized she was ok, she paddled a little and I helped her out of the water to make it a positive experience. I'm hoping to be able to rent the pool/dock at Doglando sometime in the spring to try and get her used to it. I think she would love it, if only she understood 'swimming' lol!

Great little video of him jumping Love the smile on his face in the first picture.

I think he did great! He jumped which is probably more than Dharma would do. I would love to try it with her someday. It looks like so much fun!

I think he did great! At least he didn't look like this:

And for the record, I did not push him in despite how it looks

Thanks everyone

MRL- this was actually something I thought Mikko wouldn't do at all! Though my friend's border collie handled it like it was nothing- 17' was his best jump for the day- first time doing the sport!

Lauren- You went to Doglympics too? I was thinking about going but my friend wanted to go to Splash Dogs. There weren't a lot of people there so we got a ton of practice jumps!

Haha, yep! In fact, we were going to go to the Splash Dogs over at Happy Paws, too, until we saw a flyer for the Doglympics on Thursday. We all want to know more about Doglando, and they were the main 'foundation' that supported and arranged the event. We all need to meet up some time! I love finding more GSD owners around us
