I'm going to enter Pimg in a Dock Diving (Splash Dogs) competition for the fun of it next weekend. Figured I better get some practice in- you know, on a real dock.

Lucky you to have a dock to practice on! We did a Splash Dogs event yesterday, I'm uploading the pics to photobucket now. Halo did 12 ft 1" in her best jump in both waves we entered.

Wow- nice!! That seems like a good distance! Pimg is getting about 7 to 8' off of this dock, which is about 18" off the water surface. The dock is only about 12 to 14' long. Honestly though- I think it's probably an injustice to real dock diving teams to call this practice. More just us having fun. I do think it is probably good experience for Pimg to get used to jumping off of an elevated dock and into cloudy brown water (in other words- water she can't see into). Who knows, maybe it will set her up for success in an actual Dock Diving venue. We'll see this weekend!

Awesome- I just officially registered Pimg for three waves next weekend. How perfect. She can suck at it and be nervous on Friday, gain some confidence on Saturday, and rock it on Sunday... lol! I'm getting so excited for this event!

That's awesome! I love watching dogs dock diving, even at the dog park. I was on YouTube and there was a Chessie that did 28 feet!
I think someone loaded him on a catapult and launched him off. ![]()

How cool is that!! I wish I could find a place to do dock diving practice off a real dock like that!
Funny thing is my boy will go into a lake so fast Ripley wouldn't believe it, but the pool is a different story. I have been told that it is the way they conceive the clear water. Makes it a whole new ball game. You are gonna have a blast! Can't wait to see pics!!

Can you come here and film Yoko jumping off the dock??? She loves it too. She is also good at just entertaining herself in the water by splashing and biting the water as she is swimming around.

The fact that you can get her to jump in at all is a very good start! Have fun!
