![]() The club I train with is 45 minutes to an hour each way for me, depending on traffic. But there's one member that lives 45 minutes further away than I do, so she's driving an hour and a half each way, and another that has probably a similar drive but from a different direction. And one who competes with us but only practices with us occasionally (there's a closer club that she practices with the rest of the time), who lives in Carson City, Nevada - that's about 200 miles away! |

We are really enjoying tracking right now. I would like to do agility and have some equipment so we dabble with it in the back yard.
Benny loved herding when he got to try it three times, but it is not practical in our area. He loves to swim and dive off the docks into lakes and rivers but the time we went to splash dogs he did not want to jump (maybe not used to clean water ) Instead he ran off the duck and went in through the exit ramp. He was having a good time just swimming around and I had to call him several times before he came out!

Hmmmm... let's see... there are so many....
Well, there's schutzhund of course... or.. schutzhund... oh, and of course there is schutzhund... oh, and I can't forget about schutzhund either! Hehe... sorry... lol.. Obviously my favorite sport is schutzhund. Why do I love it so much? I like the control, the precision, the different aspects of it. I like seeing the dog push through the pressure, use their natural instincts to overcome whatever obstacle is presented to them, and of course, the bond that happens between dog and handler (in any sport/companion relationship) when working so close with one another. I like being able to know what my dog is capable of and learning how to read them.
