Former MWD Missing in Lubbock, TX

Link has photos of the missing dog. He looks like my Ronja (even with the white on the chest) but male.

Lubbock family searching for former military dog missing from backyard | Lubbock Online | Lubbock Avalanche-Journal

Quote:
A Lubbock family is asking the public in help finding a former military dog that apparently got out of a Central Lubbock backyard this morning.

The black and brown Belgian Malinois got loose at about 8:30 a.m. today from the backyard on 57th Street between Indiana and University avenues. He goes by the name Rex and looks similar to a German Shepherd.

The dog was a military dog who served in Iraq and Afghanistan before being discharged for medical reasons. A local marine got to adopt Rex out of the military.

Family says he’s not dangerous. However military dogs are generally trained to attack and bite, so residents should use caution.

The family asks that anyone who might have information about Rex's whereabouts to call 787-5434. They said he is very important to them, and they miss him.
