Like I said before, it's been raining almost constantly here for the last 30 hrs. It makes it really hard to get the dogs to go out to do their business then when they come back in... whew, the wet dog smell. With you living on a farm, your dogs may live outside. We live in town so ours spend time outside when we're home. Decker has an anoying habit of barking at almost anything.

That is so weird that we both work with the end of life. I've been on call this weekend and attended a death early this morning. The storms and rain really delayed me. A trip that usually takes about an hour took almost two. I love my job. I feel that I really make a difference in the way people die. We're not here to prolong life but to make every day they have as good as it can be for as long as they have. I've been a hospice nurse for 8 years. On the bad weeks when I loose 5-6 patients my husband calls me the angel of death. I always feel so honored that people allow me in their homes as such a personal time. I have always felt that being with someone at the moment of death is as close as you get to heaven until it's your turn to go.

hey, I just read your profile... you're so lucky to have horses and to live in the country. I love horses and although I taught horseback riding at camp when I was in high school, I've never gotten to own my own horses. I've had dogs, cats, chickens, hamsters, guinea pigs, mice and even two baby squirls (chip and dale) but no horses. Also, that person who takes care of your horses that's from around here, her first name isn't Christy is it? I went to school with a girl who became a furier (sp?) shoed horses. And I think she's still here in Ky somewhere.
