I see you're also in the PNW. Just wondering if you know of any reputable GSD breeders in Wa. or Or.? I'm looking for a dog with a nice WL not SL.
So far, I've found 3 that I'm looking at. I'll post the links so you know who I already have in mind.

I haven't contacted any of these breeders yet, I'm still in the very beginning phase of breeder selection. I just found them yesterday, I liked what I read and I liked the look of their dogs.

Her eye is healing nicely. I think you're right about her and Smokey getting into it. It occurred when they turned on each other after seeing a small dog in our back alley (redirected reactivity)...you know the story
