I rescued a one year old, female German Shepherd a month ago. When we first got her I admit, she took up to me very quickly. She was very aggressive, not to me but to anyone else who stepped foot in our yard. She was abused and starved. Well, I worked with her and now she is so friendly. During the day she is absolutely so nice to anyone who comes in our yard! However, when dark falls she won't allow anyone in our yard. The other day there was two men walking down the road hollering and each other and one had a board chasing the other one with. My shepherd's ears immediately arose and she took off to the fence barking. She won't hardly allow any animal around me unless it's the dogs in my yard. She never barks at anything, unless it's dark. Is she being protective? She isn't so eager to please. I believe they have hit her in the head and damaged her brain. The vet will know more though when I take her. Anyways, is my shepherd being protective? & ANY tips would be greatly appreciated!
