German Shepherds are named alphabetically so that the breeder can quickly and easily keep litters straight later in their life. Its a system of organization. A litter, for example comes from X and Y, and all the dogs from that litter came out to be really feisty and driven. That way when they see an A dog from their kennel they don't have to go look back at their notes.
