Hi, Tim! I was trying to find info on Congo when I came across your post and realized that Valk is litter mate to my dog, Rook, the other male in the 7/6/01 litter! I visited your Web site and viewed pictures of Valk. Such an impressive dog! Rook has been a home protection dog and had some bite training. Now his hearing is quite diminished, and he has had health issues. He has pannus, requiring daily drops to help save his vision. He also has pancreatic insufficiency so we have to use an enzyme on his food to help him digest it. His hips are pretty good. He injured a tendon when he was young which makes him limp, but he gets around okay. I think the thing that makes him most uncomfortable these days is the arthritis he has in his right elbow. Rimadyl helps. Basically, we spend a fortune on him, but we are so happy to still have him around at this age that we don't mind! I am assuming Congo has passed, do you know how old he was? I hope Valk is continuing to enjoy his retirement.

    Hello Tim

i am basically buying a pup from VDH out of Congo and Zara or Congo and Fida but chances are more out of Congo an Zara.

As you had valk out of Congo which sure looks very impressive but would like to get your opinion out about this litter. As you have stated Valk has a health isssue. I am basically looking for companion dog ofcourse big dog in size not abnormally. But health is something i dont want to compromise.

I would appereciate any inputs from you about the litters above i have mentioned.

    Thank You.
