Would love coupons! More later, was away all summer for rotator cuff surgery until Fall and so behind on my email! Forgive me, will email you, I think I have your email? Love Ruth
PS: Bella wears a padded leather collar for her many ID tags and a Herm Sprenger choke which I walk her on. Her ID collar is falling apart. She does have a trainer who is working with her on protection work but he's out of town . Question: do you use an agitation collar to hold IDs (I never take that off) or just a good quality plain leather collar???

Hi, your name came up in a discussion about my GSD with IBD. I posted in Health Issues "At wit's end...inflammatory bowel " Others said you have gone through this? I can't get mine to eat hardly anything...right now she is on ZD and tried RC HP for an 8 week food trial. Am calling the Vet School today to see what to do as she is refusing all. Any advice welcome!

Chance has been doing great. His meds are down to 2.5 pred every other day, 20 mg sulfasalzine 1x day and the tylan powder 1/4 tsp 2x day. His weight is good. He is still very hyper reactive, but the collar helps with that. the occasional sore or skin issue, but they are getting further apart and less frequency. thank you so much for asking!!!

Hey Carolyn. Shane did well with venison and lamb based foods. I have not tried any other foods with Shane since he is doing so well on his current food. You could try adding some cooked vegetables, carrotts and grean beans. Shane loved that! I found that if they get hungry enough, they will eat. LOL Chance has a deformed foot and posted a picture of that last night. It is also in our photo album.

    Hi,

Jazz is still doing great. In the past, he has always gotten tired of his food after a month or two and sure enough this is beginning to happen now. I started mixing Tripe in with the kibble and that has helped but now he's tired of that too. I can try mixing a different flavour of wet food in with his kibble but was wondering if you ever had any other kibbles that Chance and your other dog did well on. I was thinking if I could find another 1 or 2 then I could rotate them so that he doesn't get bored with his food and stop eating. If not, then I'll just try mixing different wet foods.

How are you doing? You were pretty frustrated a couple of weeks ago with all of Chance's health issues. Any news?

Just got back from getting the heartworm meds for the two of them. The testing and meds cost me $295 for the two of them...sheesh!

Jazz is completely transitioned onto the new food now and is doing great. He's gained 8 pounds!!! He feels so much better now. We've struggled to put weight on him so I'm over the moon. I can't thank you enough. I remember you saying sometimes you hesitate to recommend the food but you shouldn't because you've made a huge difference for Jazz and for me :)

Thanks! That's the one I use with Bunny so I'll use that. My vet said since the Katrina dogs were relocated they've seen a dramatic increase in the number of cases so I will definitely put him on them.

Not sure if I spelled that right or not, but he has not had any problems with it at all.

Just wondering, do you give Chance heartworm prevention meds? I'm afraid that it will cause Jazz to have diarrhea but I also don't want him to get HW.

I am so glad you are seeing an improvement. Whenever Chance was doing badly, they looked like mounds of dripped pudding. Almost the shape of a hersheys kiss, only grosser! LOL Not formed at all. The fact that they are at least formed is a good sign.

Hi, so far things are going well. Were at 2 cups Purina, 1 cup old food. His BM's have been good for the most part. We had a couple that looked perfect in form but were a little soft picking up but I think part of that was that he went in really long grass in the field and it was just challenging to pick up. They've been good for the most part though. I'm cautiously optimistic! Thank you so much for the suggestion and your advice. I will definitely keep you posted :)

I bought the Pro-plan and am going to give it a shot with Jazz. I don't think I have anything to lose. Thanks for the suggestion. I hope it works as well for him as it does with your guys!

I hope so, I saved for a year to buy that laptop and the cameras were gifts since I could not afford to buy them myself. glad I at least have some of the pictures here and can try to save them to my desktop. Chance is doing well, though very hyper vigilant when someone comes to the door now and working on trying to calm him down with that. He is still clingy and whiny and I am trying to act as normal as possible, though I am sure he is picking up on the fact that I am still very scared and nervous when I first get home. think I may need to talk to someone about that for myself. Thanks for the support, I really appreciate how much everyone here has been so supportive and caring.

It should be able to show up then. And wow they really couldn't get any fingerprints? Well if I was going to break into a house, I'd probably wear gloves too haha :p. I'm sure they'll catch them though.

That's probably normal... it was pretty recent. Is Chance acting weird at all? And you called the police I'm sure, they couldn't help much?
