I'm not sure if I'm doing this right or not, but here goes.....
Found GSD from the pics, the black and tan I believe might be a mix and the second is a very pretty PB sable shepherd, 10 months old. these dogs are listed as strays right now, but the Indianapolis care and control only holds them for 4 days. This facility euthanizes on a regular basis and is NOTORIOUS for euthanizing large breed dogs.

I will double check but pretty sure the 10 month old is the same 10 month old a friend working for AC&C has reported is being watched after closer than the norm by some people at the shelter and eval'd for rescue pulling...supposed to have really nice temperament but what I've heard doesn't indicate anything positive in regards to sport work.

Please let me know, I have been contemplating calling them all morning to see when he would become available for adoption. I would consider adopting him for now just to get him out if it turns out a rescue doesn't work out for him.

Any news on the other dog? Hope they both made it! There are so many good dogs out there that just need a second chance at getting a good home!
I wish people were less fearful of adoption. I can't tell you the number of GSDs I have fostered or met in rescue that would, without a doubt, meet or exceed the needs of most of the people who come on here looking for a breeder. It would be great if people would take the same time they took researching breeders fostering or otherwise evaluating rescues. Afterall, the vast majority of dog owners are just looking for a family companion. |

Oh, well, animal care and control told that he was rescue pulled, as you did. So idk what is going on, but I have learned my lesson.

No, I thought it was a rescue pull when I posted in this thread previously but we've exchanged quite a few msg's now and I had let you know that the person pulling him was interested in training him for SAR. If he washes, he'll still be a much loved pet.
I don't really know what lesson you think you've learned, but when I msg'd you initially I let you know that she was affliliated with the shelter and she had already said she was probably going to be pulling the dog. No one can pull a dog from a city shelter until the stray hold is up. I let you know to get in touch with the shelter and express an interest in him so if she didn't pull him, you could go down and meet him and see if it looked like he would be a good fit, maybe offer to foster him, etc if you weren't sure. This was all moot point, because she had already been watching him for the stray hold to expire and make the decision on whether to bring him home or not. I consider all pulls from a high kill big city shelter a rescue pull. This dog is in excellent hands and will be very well cared for. As far as the lesson, I think a better lesson to take away is that there are tons of GSD's that end up in shelters and unfortunately there are WAY too many to go around. So keep looking. You hadn't even met this dog yet, you have no idea if he would have been a good fit or not. I'm sure the right dog is out there for you.
