I posted in my original thread but don't know how to update the title of it so posting a new thread to let everyone know the pups came home safe at 3am!!!! Its a miracle! I am overjoyed. :-) Thanks from the bottom of my heart for all of the heartfelt support I received here.

Thank you guys! I am so happy I feel giddy this morning! I have never been so happy to be woken in the middle of the night in all my life! My husband and I sat on the living room floor with puppies in our laps and laughed and cried! They were soaked to the bone and hungry and Mama dog looked so happy but also exhausted. I don't know how she got out again.....we fixed the place she got out the other night.....but I am glad she did because she found them and brought them home. More work will be done on the fence tonight to be sure this never happens again.

So glad you found them. Maybe being that they are just babies and now have experienced them taking off, that you might consider keeping them inside where they are safer.

It has been a horendous experience and we will continue to improve our set up so that it never happens again. They stay in the living room until they are 4 weeks old and big enough to jump out of the welping box. We are going to be builidng stalls and better runs out in the barn and continue to improve improve improve. I want them to be outside and socialized on the farm where they learn to respect the animals and not chase chickens and they get sunshine and fresh air, but I need better containment and to rethink where they are kept at night. This never happened before and so we didn't know what we didn't know but we are using the experience as an education and catalyst for changing our set up.
