Default Lost GSD Wilmington, Del. Floppy ear

Please forward the below information to everyone you know who can forward it on again and again ... to anyone who has any friends or relatives or co-workers etc who can keep an eye out for Homer. He can be identified by his floppy ear. For those of you who have rescue friends or friends who check the shelters please pass this on to them too, and ask them to keep an eye out and contact Bobbie at hankjozef@verizon.net and his foster parents Abraham and Lisa at aea2008@gmail.com. Homer is scared and shy and needs to come home. If there are any sightings please let us know as soon as possible.

Homer was taken to Harrisburg last evening to meet up with his new family and head to his forever home. Unfortunately, Homer bolted out the door of his new home at 107 Birch Knoll Road, Wilmington, DE, as they were trying to put a leash on him. Both his new parents, Abraham and Lisa are distraught and contacted the local police and SPCA in hopes of retrieving him. They are also putting posters out. I am not sure who lives close or knows anyone that does live in the area who may be able to keep a eye out for him. Homer was badly mistreated prior to being fostered. He has come a long way but is still very timid and fearful. He is not treat motivated so he would have to be really hungry to approach for food. He is a gentle dog but skittish with strangers. He is not micro chipped and his dog license for PA is with his new mom. I would appreciate any help passing the word on.

Thanks

Bobbie Brown

Morning bump for Homer. No news yet. He was lost in Wilmington, DE but is very close to the PA border and near a lot of busy roads. His foster Mom and adoptive parents are just heart broken.

The rescue is reaching out near and far to hopefully get Homer back quickly and safely. Poor guy is probably very scared.

Homer is still missing. We have no leads. We are very worried about how he will fare with the holiday weekend festivities. He's posted all over facebook, emailed to rescues, shelters and individuals. I am headed to DE in a couple of hours to check his neighborhood and local shelters.

If anyone sees him or hears about a dog fitting his description, please let me know ASAP.

That's so sad. I hope he's found safe and sound.

No sighting or leads yet.

Several volunteers are headed to DE again today to put up more posters and search again.

Has he been posted on craigslist? That is the modern means of finding lost pets.
I gave them a recommendation for tracking dogs.

Homer is still missing. No sightings since Thursday.

Trust me, the group has been doing everything we can. Homer is listed on FB, Craiglist, Fido Finder along with several other lost dog websites. Several volunteers (including the foster family which is 5 hours away) have made the trip to DE (about an hour for most of us) to check shelters and search the area he was last seen.

Posters are up everywhere. Every contact we have is being utilized. We are looking into the tracker and mailings.

Is there anyone close to the Kent County shelter that might be able to do a walk through for us? He is listed in their Lost Dog database and I have talked with the shelter a few times as well as checked their found dog database but a walk through is what we need and it's over 2 hours from me.

I would recommend tracking dogs. They may find the general area where he is hiding.

Of course someone could have picked him up and and taken him home. Once my foster bolted through the door half an hour after I left him at his adoptive home. He took off down the road following the tracks of my car. People picked him up while running in the cornfields, freshly groomed and smelling like a rose, with a Christmas bandana in his neck. I thought he was too shy to be caught. We spent the night in the rain and mud looking for hima and he was relaxing in a home by the fire.

Are you checking the Maryland and Pennsylvania shelters? He is not in Baltimore County, I was there today.
