White GSD Male - Microchipped -Preston CT
Lost Saturday night 3-12 If anyone happens to come across this dog please contact: Laurie 860-887-9931 - Yesterday afternoon I took the dogs on a path in my backyard. Bentley trotted on ahead as he always does, he always keeps running back and forth to check on me, but this time he didn't. I don't know if he caught a deer's scent, or what, but he's lost and I'm totally sick to my stomach with panic.I searched for him until dark, then continued to drive around on the roads putting up posters and calling for him. I entered a pet amber alert last night as well. They're supposed to call neighbors and fax to pet businesses or shelters. Some friends are coming by this morning to continue the search, but I'm just so scared and worried about him. He didn't have on any tags, since we were just in my backyard (although he is microchipped) He's such a Mama's boy and I'm sure when he finished his chase, and realized he didn't know the way home, he was panicked.!. There's a big swath of woods behind us, that goes to a great swamp, It's about 1 1/2 miles to the next road & about 2-3 miles long, so I'm worried about him just going in circles. I went out for a ways and tried to bring Venus with me, but every time I yelled for Bentley and clapped or whistled, Venus thought I was angry and tried to run back to the house, so she was no help following his scent, and I didn't want to get lost myself so close to dark. Just pray someone finds him or he manages to find his way home!!

Update from a Facebook friend this morning:
LOST DOG UPDATE: Bentley has been FOUND and is home safe. Posting signs works! Laurie received two calls today that Bentley was spotted on their road, about 1 1/2 miles from Laurie's house. As soon as he saw her car he came running. Poor boy was muddy and scared but is now very happy to be home.
