FOUND: Male standard coat GSD, St. Louis

Hi!

I found a standard coat male, neutered GSD roaming the streets in my neighborhood (south city St. Louis). A few days ago a young kid came by with him on a rope leash and asked me if he was mine and told me he was roaming around. Last night I saw him hanging out on the streets again, so I called him to me and he came running into my house.

He is super friendly, good with other dogs (we have 2, golden retriever and GSD puppy) and cats, is crate trained (happily goes into a crate), knows how to sit and shake, but not down or stay.

He's an older guy, at least 8 years old I would guess. He has no Id, tattoo or collar. I am taking him to check for a microchip when I get the chance.

Did you call any local shelters to see if anyone is looking for him? You might try putting an ad in the paper, craigslist, put flyers up in local stores.

With all the crazies that come out of the woodwork I would ask some kind of trick question when ppl called like "what is his tattoo?"
