I received word today that the two dogs had been found and returned to their owners. Here is a clip from the bulletin board--a miracle indeed!
*** Oakley and her partner in crime, Misty are home safe and sound after a scary 40 hours or so wandering around in the wilderness. They were found by a forest worker who saw the flier and brought them into a ranger station where they were reunited with a very distraught Crys. Valuable lesson here folks...no matter how well you think you know your dog, you don't really know your dog. Who would have thought a blind dog would go exploring on her own...but then, Oakley is special and fearless. She won't get that opportunity again I'm sure! Happy ending this time folks but we were sweating it out. *** |

Very good news! Oakley's sidekick is sighted of course, so maybe she wouldn't have gone on her own but simply followed the lead of her buddy. A great adventure indeed, and hopefully it will have satisfied their curiosity - indefinitely!
