So my co worker adopted a GSD from her friend on monday. She had him for 2 hours and he got out through a hole in their fence. I told my co worker I would help her find her dog so after I got off work my friend and I searched everywhere for this dog. We went around the whole neighborhood, and the neighborhoods in the surrounding area. We went to the local animal shelter, the police station, the animal hospital and found nothing. We even asked every person we saw walking. Still nothing. We searched yesterday with no luck as well. Today my co worker called me, they found the dog, 2 towns over and he was dead. He fell into the water intake at the water plant? My co worker is absolutely devestated and now her friend is regretting ever giving her the dog. I had my hopes up that we would find him alive. He was only 3 years old

How sad is that? First, I don't want to sound mean but your friend should have made sure the dog could not get out. Was your friend really committed to take good care of this GSD? I hate when things like these happen. Thank you for trying to help. It's very sad the dog didn't make it. So sorry.

I guess I am lucky that my puppy liked this place and i have nice neighbors because she got out three times before i could find all of her escapes. She would however only escape to the front yard/door and sit there and cry to get in. I am really sorry to hear about her loss, you have to check those fences very well.
