tan, with black around muzzle and around eyes. has white in him. He was last seen on Roberts Ave. In Lima, Ohio. He is a big boy 111.5 Aug. 29 when he was last at the vets. He has been missing since Nov. 17. If anyone has seen my boy please let me know. He is neutured and microchipped. He is shy but if he takes up to you, he is a lover and a sweetheart...He's my boy and we miss him so much!!!
Thank you so much, we have been trying, posting on as many sites as we can, calling, driving. I just hope and pray he is safe, this weather and all the snow doesn't really help. But we won't give up. Thanks again.
I can only imagine what you must have gone through these past months. My guys and I are rooting for your beautiful boy, and hope that he will return to you. Not knowing what has happened to him must be unbearable....I am so sorry.

thank you all so much. It is unbearable, and unbelievable that with the ads in the newspapers and everything there has been no sightings or anything. Tim at the shelter can't believe it since he is a big boy, we stay in close contact to as many people as possible in the animal fields around here. I search the sites just hoping for the one break that reunites the family. I do thank you all and appreciate everything everyone has been doing. It is so nice to be reminded of all the good and the love around the world...
Hey - there's a face I recognize! I was the one who posted the found ad on craigslist about the springer/beagle mix and tried to see what I could pick up on yours energetically. His family found the hound, by the way. They drove by when we had him out front and he was happily reunited with his mom and 4 kids I wish you the same for yours.
I just posted two GSDs found in this general area, but the male I described looks nothing like yours and the other is female, just to put your mind at rest about those two leads.
Thank you so much!!! Did you get the additional photos of Akai? Hopefully something will come to you, we keep searching...found a beautiful boy in PA, I could have sworn it was him, exact markings, some pictures show they are darker, so with that in consideration, only one thing different I could tell, he had white toenails, Akai has some white but most are black. I don't think they can go from black to white but the opposite, not sure. Anyway, She is suppose to call me today and we will talk. We'll not give up, it has been the longest 5 months but he is out there somewhere...
Thank you for being one of the wonderful people that take the kids in and find their owners and work with people to find their beloved lost pets. If you hear from me on CL, I apologize, but I write any new posts.
Thanks again for being you.
The two I just posted have been away from their former families for over 6 months, so don't give up hope! I just re-found this place yesterday when trying to find a central place to maybe find someone who was looking for them.
As far as nails, I am more familiar with pugs and it's a ding if their nails aren't opaquely black, and although they might darken up a bit, they are basically the same color in puppyhood and adulthood.
But with the effect of nutrition on a body, it wouldn't surprise me if things could change. So I wouldn't rule it out on just the nails, but just take it into consideration.
Still wishing the best for you! Email me again at briarwoodpups@yahoo.com after April 15th and I'll take some time to see if I get anything more detailed from him.
Thanks, I'll not rule it out until I hear from her. Hopefully soon. She said sometime after 8 am she would call me. so, I am still waiting. Thru all the dogs I have looked at, this one is the most drawing, 449 miles away, so I can't just pop in and take a look. All I can do is ask questions and beg for them to scan him again and again, and make sure if he is neutered or not. At the shelter in bowling green, I got a message and a lady thought it could have been Akai so I called the shelter and asked if they could scan him again, luckily they did and found a chip, it wasn't Akai but they were able to contact the mommy of him and she was suppose to come get him. I was told it sometimes takes 3 times before a chip will show up because they move around. I thank you Jayne and if you hear or feel anything at all please let me know. Thanks.
Talked to Paula today, Bowzer is 9 yrs old and has been with the same people. I can't believe how close they were in resemblance. Check out Harley.... Adopt a Pet :: Harley - Litchfield, IL - Anatolian Shepherd/German Shepherd Dog Mix I'm waiting to hear back on him. The phone number is not connected but hopefully they will write soon. It's been 5 months so either my mind is playing tricks or this is him. In 5 months I have only seen one possible and 2 identicals. Prayers going up for my boy....
Thank you...me too. I'm still waiting for someone to contact me. I can't find any alternative phone numbers and my heart is racing so bad. In 5 months I have thought 2 possible with doubts but this guy I am sure it is him. If it isn't it will surprise me. There are so many dogs on the internet and sites and I spend so many hours looking/searching. and so many people have pitched in and helped. Janet, a very good person sent me this site...so I do need to thank everyone for everything also. Hopefully I will have good news soon. Thanks!!!
:fingerscrossed: I have my fingers crossed for you, and I'll pray that it is him and that you can be reunited with your boy, I bet he misses you a whole bunch.
thank you...I just wish I would hear from them. I've tried to find a number for them besides the one that is listed (that says it is not connected) but I can't find one. I feel like going there but it is about 6.5 hours away, so I can't just pop in. I just feel drawn to him like no other. Hopefully soon I will have good news to share. I love and miss my boy so much. thanks for the prayers, much needed...
Sorry guys, I was hoping and talk about a duplicate. His ears doesn't stand up and he was adopted about a year ago. Dawn sent me pictures of him before and after the adoption. I swore on my life it was Akai with his ears cocked back. Still looking, I spend so many hours on this computer going into different sites and finding more. I must look at thousands of dogs and posts. Dawn is going to send Akai's pictures out to more rescues and places she knows to get them alerted also. I have quite a few people in groups and rescues and all around helping and sending me pics. Thank you everyone so much, we really appreciate all the help we can get. Dan is always searching, he keeps checking the blanket, towel and ball out in the woods. I keep driving the neighbors nuts with calling for him and playing the recording of the howling, but the hope is there. We will not give up, can't....
I was hoping to share some wonderful news.
I wished it would have been, I miss him so much. I just wish if someone has him they would let me know, it has been so long. But we'll continue to search and one day hopefully soon we will find him. Thank you.
I'm hoping this is not your boy and I hesitated about posting anything here-
There is a dog who looks like a GSD laying along the side of southbound I-75 just before the first Bluffton exit (Exit 142) who has been obviously hit and killed. He/she has only been there for the past few days, but the body is not in good condition and I actually thought at first it was a deer, but I believe it is a dog and the coloring looks like a GSD.
I know that's quite a distance from you and I really hope it's not your dog, but wanted to let you know just in case.
Pat,
thank you for letting me know. One way or another it is one of them things I really need to know. It has been a long time so we don't know what may have happened, it is better to know then not to. Thank you I will let you know when I find something out.
Teresa
I just got a call from my husband to let me know that it wasn't Akai, He said it was to small to be my boy, he also said it looked more like a coyote, so I'm not sure. Relieved but concerned over who's animal it may/may not have been. Prayers going up for all. Thanks again for letting me know.
Does anyone know where I can rent a big humane trap, the shelter here has there's out on loan and I called angels for animals and white cottage and the vets, haven't been able to come up with one. Auglaize co. has one but said they can't cross over the county line with it. I can't swear the dog spotted is Akai but I won't swear it isn't, I think female but with him being neutered at a young age it is hard to tell, he/she wouldn't come to us. we have tried and tried. This past weekend it wasn't at the school but we left soft food for it to have something in it's belly, it is so skinny, and needs loved. I did call allen county and asked them to go out, they didn't see him. so...still hoping to find my boy...it's been over 5 months of ****....thank you everyone for all your help, I could use any suggestions to help catch this baby and if we do and it isn't Akai any suggestions of who to turn it over to. Auglaize did say they would take it in.
I am still watching for him to pop up either in a shelter,or on CL.This one has touched my heart as the missing female from Zanesville,Ohio .I am not very good with location etc, what counties border where he went missing ? Was he wearing a collor or anything ? My thought and prayers are with you........
thank you so much. I spend hours looking in the different sites for my boy. It is so hard, Mary from rescue ink put me in contact with Deb, who is trying to locate a trap to catch the dog that is running by the school. I would love for it to be my boy...He went missing in allen county, bordering allen county is Auglaize co., Harden co., Van Wert, Putnam, Hancock. He had a blue nylon choker collar, He chewed thru a black leash that was on him, so part of that might still be attached. He can get out of his collar, so he may not have any on by now. Thank you also for the prayers, I hope and pray the Great Spirit keeps him safe until we are able to find him and get him home...I do appreciate all that is being done to help my boy, so many people have been wonderful. Thanks again
