Hello,
My name is Lori Berg and live in Mercer, Pa. Someone dumped off a pure bred German Shepherd in our neighborhood early yesterday morning and he is just literally running circles. He is being very aloff and we can't get near him. He doesn't appear to be aggressive at this time, just afraid. He seems to be in pretty good shape health wise right now but I noticed he is chasing the outside wild cats and/or rabbits. We live on a main highway and am afraid he will get hit or shot before we can get him lured in. We also have a kill shelter here which if some calls them to come and get him won't end well either. I have friends that work in the rescue and told me to start luring him in with highly appealing food, which I am. I am just afraid it will take to long before something happens to him. If you have any ideas of how to get him quicker could you let me know. I have a friend who owns two German Shepherds that is helping me try to get him, so we know that its not going to be easy. If you have any ideas or could offer any help to save this baby it would be greatly appreciated. thanks, Lori 724 866-6925

I'd say beef or a nice juicy bone.
Man that's scary. I'm in PA, just about Pittsburgh, myself and the weather and snow we have I'm sure isn't making it any easier. If he HAS to go to a shelter, Butler County is a no Kill shelter. It's a little bit of a drive for you, but it is better than seeing him put down. Good luck and keep us updated.

Try some raw chicken or some kind of liver --- or if you can find canned green tripe.
Good luck ~ with the weather we've been having lately, and the temps in the 20's at the most, I sure hope you can catch him soon!

Mary Ann isn't trying to catch the dog. If you have any suggestions you should call Lori at the phone number listed above.
