FOUND: TOLEDO, OH - Black & Tan Male? 8/27/09

I received an e-mail from another rescue friend.

Someone she knows (another rescuer) was on her way to work today and saw a very nice looking black & tan GSD sitting near the Collingwood exit of the Anthony Wayne Trail near downtown Toledo. It sounds like she thinks he was a male, but she's not sure.

She said he/she was just sitting there like he was posing. She stopped to help, but the Dog Warden's staff was already there and they were waiting for the Dog Warden to arrive with a tranquilizer gun. She said he/she seemed like a really nice dog, but wouldn't come to anyone and they didn't want him/her to run out into traffic.

So, the dog is likely with the Lucas County Dog Warden now and will likely only be given 3 days.

If anyone knows anyone who has lost a black and tan GSD near downtown Toledo, please have them contact the Dog Warden's office at:

DO YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THE DOG, WAS IT PUT TO SLEEP OR ADOPTED. ADVISE JMOSCOVE@AOL.COM

I never heard anything more about the dog. With this particular dog warden and the dog being a German Shepherd, there's a good chance the dog was euthanized, but I don't know that for sure.

You could try contacting the dog warden's office, but I'm not sure how helpful they will be. Sorry.
