We found a large german shepard this morning, wearing a red collar but no tags, off of Lockbourne Road (around 7:30 AM). We had to call the dog warden due to both working all day and our bus stop across the street was beginning to get a crowd of children and while the dog was very friendly, we couldn't leave him with young children, unsupervised, without knowledge of his background. I was assured by the warden that the dog will NOT be put down, that they will hold it for 3 days, then try to adopt it out and as a last resort, send it to a german shepard rescue agency. Please note, I am a dog lover and owner and I only want for this dog to reunite with his/her owner, there was just no other option I had, given that I could not put him/her in my home with my 6 month old puppy. So please, if this is your dog, visit the site below for info on how to go about picking him/her up. The dog knew basic commands, was well-fed (wouldn't eat any of the dog food we tried to give, but we made sure it got plenty of water) and did not look as though it had been wandering the streets for a long time.
