Hello everyone. Here is my puppy Fermac. He will be 9 weeks old on Saturday. He is a little cutie and full of personality. One thing we were wondering though is if we are overtiring him out at night. We have been coming home from work then doing some simple rewarding with treats of behaviors like eye contact, name recognition, sit, and down, and then the last couple nights we have taken him out just in front of the house on the leash to get used to it. Then when he comes back in he plays with his toys and follows us around (and tries to bite us of course :smile2:). It seems like in the later evening, he can't relax and he's panting and breathing fast even when he's laying down, and getting overly excited. Are we doing too much with him?

Welcome! He's a great looking pup. You may consider the adrenaline factor. If you're playing and getting the pup excited you shouldn't expect them to calm and crash immediately. As long as you're not over stressing the pup and his health is sound then with the training/play consider some time him to calm, get his breath and get into sleep mode. Just think of it this way, if you jog or go to the gym you don't go home and go right to bed! You may go to bed but sleep is a different Oprah Show. The only thing that I would put at the top of the list is that the pup is not being over stressed both mentally and physically! With a pup that age moderation is the key in all things. Best of luck and again! That's a great looking pup!
