Hello everyone, I live in Holiday Florida I own a Cane Corso Mastiff named Leo he is almost 5 and a Boston Terrier she is almost 11 her name is Titan, And Just got a Sable Shepherd named Alpha he is now 9 weeks old and 23 pounds with very big paws!
Yes it is, the Boston was for my wife she wanted a snuggle pup! The cane Corso was to help with my broken heart after my boxer went to the rainbow bridge, And the Shepherd was Something I always wanted and said what the heck!
Hope it works when the GSD is 10 months old and living up to his name. How will you manage these two males later on. And how will you keep your oldie safe from this landsharking pup?
Sorry for your loss. This is my first boxer and she is a trip for sure. The are crazy and loving. I hold her belly in front of hind legs while patting her just in front of that short tail that seems to go 100 miles an hour wagging. She is such a happy puppy. But my real love is shepherds.
LOL ... while I am not exactly sure what is going on here ... if you have a "Boxer" also??? I got your back!
Boxer specific ... first thing you should not have gotten a "second girl!" Check out Boxer rescue policy as regards that ... and second ... members with lots of experience with dogs of "Molosser World" that would be these guys': Molossers breeds (Molosser dogs, Molossers, Mastiff breeds)
tend to be the one's most taken by "surprise" when they get a GSD??? So the first heads up ... don't be surprised if your GSD does not meet the arrival of "Company/Strangers" with unbound enthusiasm like your Boxer.
But hey if your gonna cop a "tude" and leave ... then never mind.
you are right Madlab and that is funny I never thought about that, the one with the shepherd is a protection dog at my trainers My Cane Corso is not protection trained
Well I asked in a more conventional manner for pics of the CC.
There was a pic also of the GSD looked like a sable?? Lots of us have more than one breed in our packs. But ... if we are going to do a Cat "throw" down?? I don't have as many as I used to but that puts me down to six ... so I say bring it on.
I asked to see more pictures of the cane corso. Beautiful dog and thank you for posting the pictures. Most of us have different breeds and post pictures of them. Welcome to the forum and don't take everything to serious, it is just a forum.
So I got a question, how is the play style of the cane corso with the smaller dog and with the GSD pup? He is 5, right? Do they slow down as they get older(due to size, etc) or does he still act like a pup? I kinda wonder if the play style is the same or different between the two breeds. I almost think the GSD is rougher in play?
We had a cane corso in agility class a couple years ago. As big as he was he could do the whole course pretty quick without error, but he was the class clown. He made us laugh more then once. When he got tired and decided to sit there was no budging him, he went limp and it was like dead weight. Then he would lay there and just look at you, when he was good and ready he would pop up like nothing and just start moving again. He was a really good dog and I am sitting here laughing as I think about the big goof ball:grin2:
