Default Vader is crazy ! :)

Hello everyone!

I have had this guy since he was 8 weeks old. I have been using this forum since I got him and just now decided to make an account.

He is definitely a handful! I am trying to figure out how to get him to calm down when he gets around guests or friends. He goes crazy for about 5 minutes around guests.. but those 5 minutes are nerve wracking.

He is my best buddy though. We start obedience training in two weeks and I cant wait for that.

He is 8 months old as of yesterday. 26 inches at the shoulder and 92 lbs.

I was having a hard time with his " bigger " ear staying up so I have them both glued together with tear mender right now and hoping it stays after!

Pictures!

Welcome to the board.

Here is a good post on the subject IMHO.

What's the best way to calm her down?

A similar technique is referred to around here as Sitting on the Dog.

May the Force be with you,

I have already begun looking over both of those threads and there is a lot of useful information in there.

Thanks Mister C!

He's a handsome boy! Good luck with your training - I'm sure he'll get there.

I had a black shepherd named Vader when I was growing up. Your post made me nostalgic! I miss that guy.

Thank you!

Vader is an awesome name for a black GSD! Although most Shepherds I know would probably be more akin to Jar Jar Binks! hahaha

Haha, yeah, you're right! I had a cat that was very like C3PO - he was super prissy and everything was always someone else's fault. The cards were stacked against him though - he was a male Siamese named Woman.

Hahah!

I went to pick up a cat a couple of years ago. I was specifically looking for a male; and the owner of the litter thought she had picked a male.

I got home and named it Boba. Short for Boba Fett.

It went into heat 7 months later.

I also had let my girlfriend move in when Boba was around 4 months old; that cat wanted nothing to do with me after that and only liked the GF.

Boba died by snake bite. I didn't cry. hahah
