Hello from STL

Hey All,

Meet my male German Shepherd Ghost. Ghost is currently a few months old and is starting his obedience training. I've been lurking for awhile now and have finally decided to join. I look forward to interacting with everyone on the forum.

Welcome. You'll find there are a lot of dog sports in St. Louis. Where are you training?

Andaka,

Right now i'm not really sure where to train. I was thinking Sit Means Sit for the PP work as I know some police municipalities use them for training. The normal obedience training I prefer to handle. I'm not a professional dog trainer by any means, but I've been around the block so to speak :). If you have recommendations on either front i'd be glad to hear them :).

Thanks!

OK. I used SMS for obedience. I asked our trainer about PP work and he emphatically said no. They would not train our dog in PP nor do they train others dogs in PP. You can ask them, but that's what our trainer told us. I never asked why. At that point I was just interested in the obedience anyways. I'm in the Kansas City area.

By the way, Ghost is a handsome boy.

Jafo220,

You may have a point, realistically i'm not very optimistic in sit means sit. I have called them 2 or 3 times now after hours and no-one has really cared enough to call me back. If that's the type of business model they have, then I can find better trainers to spend my money on :). Thanks for the input and the comments on Ghost :)
