Talking First GSD owner from MN

Hello everyone!
I am from Minnesota and have recently rescued my first GSD, Tango. He is around 2 years old and originally from Georgia. He was a stray and very thin. After taking him to the vet, I also learned his is full of buckshot
He has come a long way and is learning his manners. He loves his sister, a black lab X, and his brothers, a chihuahua x, and a tabby cat.
He is spoiled rotten and is loving life. I am very grateful he has learned how to retrieve so I can finally tire him out in the back yard!
I have wanted a German Shepherd for many years now and happy I finally had the opportunity to rescue one and cannot wait to rescue another when the time is right.

The photo is of me and my 3 pups!

Ouch on the buckshot! Are they going to have to remove it?

THanks for rescuing him.

My furs are not in storage, nor draped across the bed. They're peering out the kennel door just waiting to be fed.

Congrats on the rescue!!! The buckshot will most likely never cause an issue. We see it a lot in the country. It's upsetting, but never seems to bother the dogs.

Enjoy him!!!!

The vet said we don't need to remove the buckshot because it is not causing him any problems. If it does start problems then we will readdress it.

to the board.

He looks like a happy, grateful boy all snuggled up with you and the rest of the pack. I've always thought that rescues know that you have saved them--at least the adult dogs and the one's subjected to prolonged/severe adverse conditions. You know, like buck shot-OUCH! Good for you and enjoy your new family member.
