Hello from long island,ny

hi there all. my wife and I just welcomed home our FIRST GSD Feb 15. His name is Fezzik and he is now 8.5wks old. Though he is our 1st gsd he is not our first dog. we just had to put down our beloved Bosco in january. Bosco was a gsd mix and was the best, which is what brought us to get a gsd. He is doing pretty well house training, and sit, stay, down, and come. is great in his crate and sleeps all night . Though we do think he may be having some separation anxiety. so if anyone can help point us to which forum would help for that would be awesome. wish i could post pics(guess i'll have to upgrade) :P
thanks again and hello. looking forward to enjoying this forum

Hi and welcome! Fezzik is a cute name, and he seems to be doing very well already!

Looking forward to seeing the pics(you don't need to upgrade to post pics.) You just need to upload here (you will find the link to create albums on your profile. To get to your profile, click on your name ), or to another site like flickr. Copy paste the bbcode(s) for your pic(s) in your post.

If you scroll down you will see the section 'The puppy Place" . You can post your questions in the appropriate category. Puppy Behavior for separation anxiety.

Or, here is the link : The Puppy Place - German Shepherd Dog Forums

Enjoy your pup!

Welcome!!!!! Congrats on the new puppy!! They are a lot a fun!!!

Don't be quick to call what you are seeing as separation anxiety. He is really very young for that. It is probably just him being a vulnerable puppy who wants to be with his family and get worried when they leave him. Puppy classes and good socialization will help build his confidence. But is is very normal for a baby to want to be with his protectors.
