Default Soon-to-be GSD owner :)

I have never owned a GSD before, but I have been doing my homework and will be getting my first GSD pup in mid-May . Just looking for a place to go for advice/tips/stories/etc.

Gsd's r beautiful, loyal and loving. But, a gsd puppy demands constant exercise and needs to be treated likee a perpetual 2yo child. Your puppy will take over your life. If you plan on crating him/her for many hours a day u'll need to nearly match that w exercise- or he will be restless, whiny. They also love routines. Mine has his down to the minute; its great cuz it tires him out every nite. But the downside is that he knows his routine down to the minute. However, i know just how to tire him out. Good luck.

Welcome to the forum! You're in a good place to learn! GSD's are a handful and smart....smarter than humans on more occasions than I can name Just be prepared to give up a lot of your time for your new family member!
