Smile Hi from a Newbie

Hello,
I just wanted to take a second and introduce myself and my wonderful GSD! I have been involved in the dog guide industry for a number of years, and currently am working my two-year-old female GSD, Diamond. I purchased her from a responsible breeder at around 8 months of age, and finished her training when she was around 16 months. Aside from guiding, she also retrieves dropped objects and does light counter-balance work.
I do private dog training--basic pet obedience and service work--but aside from that I teach Linguistics at a local university while I work on my dissertation. I am hoping to finish my PHD by May, 2015, after which I will concentrate more on working with service dogs and their handlers.
I joined this forum to learn as much about the GSD as I can, so look forward to talking with everyone!!

Welcome! May I be rude and ask what the PHD will be in?

Jelpy

BTW....Pictures of the fur child are compulsory.

My furs are not in storage, nor draped across the bed. They're peering out the kennel door just waiting to be fed.
