Default A little help please...(Getting a puppy from Steel Cross Kennels)

Hi,
I am purchasing a puppy from Steel Cross and find the breeder to be lovely and informed. I know the color of her puppies show she is not breeding to standard and that fact alone does not upset me. I have talked to breeders who have purchased her dogs and have wonderful things to say about them and about their subsequent health tests. I know I am taking a risk here, but sometimes you fall in love with a puppy and can take an educated risk. I have yet to discover anything negative said/posted about this breeder or her kennel. I am wondering if there is anyone else out there that has a personal experience with Steel Cross.

Thank you!!!

Welcome to the forum! If you get a chance to spend a few hours to read thru --> How to find a puppy! you will probably feel better about the breeder you chose.

Can you go up the the narrow black strip along the top of this page, click on User CP, and put your GENERAL location on? That way is will show up to the left of all your post like where my Poconos stuff is showing.

Is this your breeder? Steel Cross German Shepherd Dogs if it is, and you are worried about the color of her dogs.... then you need to continue to read up on the breed (like we all have/had to do) The dogs on her Home Page are sables! I never knew about this color when I started being interested in the breed but guess what color both my GSD's are? SABLE! My favorite (with the all black) now .

They actually explain it on their site ---> Steel Cross German Shepherd Dogs

Here's my breeder and look at the dogs on their site ---> http://wildhauskennels.com/

She health tests her breeding dogs? I don't see that on the site, or much information at all.
All puppies are lovable, but that isn't a reason to support a breeder. What is their 'hip warranty'?

There is alot of missing information on the website, but that doesn't mean it's not getting done, just that the website could be improved on.

Thank you for all the guidance and informed opinions. I took all of these posts seriously and in the end, the breeder and agreed not to go forward. I have since located a wonderful puppy from a breeder that does all the necessary health testing and socialization. My heart broke when we gave up the first puppy... but it is funny how things always work out for the best. Thank you again for being so generous with your knowledge to a stranger.
