New owner of two GSD!

I have always liked German Shepherds and I finally have a great place for them. I bought a house on 80 acres with springs and a nice creek. My nearest neighbor is a mile away. I found two great GSD. I found a female here in Tennessee that was born in March 2013 and a male in Arkansas born in April 2013. They are both AKC registered. They are named Rambo and Sadie. Rambo is 9 months old and weighs 90 lbs, Sadie is 10 months and weighs 70 lbs. They are the best of friends.

I do have a question about coat color. Sadie is mostly black with some red markings. Rambo is black and tan. The question is about Rambo's coat color. The hair is his saddle had black tips with some red/tan and silver throughout. I was wondering if this is normal and what it would be called. Does he have a touch of sable in him? I will include pics of them both. I'm also thinking about breeding them in a couple of years. What do you think the pups would look like? Thanks!

My kane was coloured like yours at about 2 he's now nearly 9 but the silver speckles became gold so ended up with strong gold flecking over the black now classed as gold sable but very pretty u dint see many gold sables it's usually grey sables that more popular but yours looks like kane was at that age your other one looks like a black bi colour would get some good mixture in pups probably blacks and bi colour at be even sable

Here are some pics of Rambo's dad and mom. The mom is lighter colored. He looks a lot like his dad.

Hi and welcome .

You can't have a touch of sable and your dog can not become a sable.
I think you can expect your dog to keep on loosing the darker pigment and become lighter . What you are seeing now is the "bitch stripe" .
Both parents had less than desirable pigment -- the mother especially .

I'm wondering what the pups would look like from these two. Do you think the darker color of the female would help the lighter colors of the male in the pups?

are you asking what pups would look like pigment wise if these two 9 and 10 month old pups were bred to each other some time down the road?

depends on the pedigree and what else there is behind it . The male may come from a pedigree where there is linebreeding or repeats on dogs that haven't had much attention paid to pigment .
Same goes for either one for any other feature , including hips .
You see the phenotype , the pedigree shows you the genotype.
