German Shepherd Dog Forums - First time GSD owner

Hello from Texas! My name is Allie. My husband and I adopted our dog Orion (mixed boy) when he was six weeks from the shelter here. He's 12 weeks currently. This weekend, we brought home from a second dog, Apollo. We were actually looking for a female dog around Orion's same age to adopt. I had been set on a Catahoula mix (love the breed!) but when my husband found out there was a German shepherd litter needing homes, he fell in love. We went to meet them on Saturday with the intention of bringing home a girl. There were three girls and two boys. We ended up opting for the only Black and Tan boy - the rest were sable. He is eight weeks. His mama seemed to be a Pureblood German shepherd and the litter looked to be the same. Mama was left behind after people moved and the pups followed shortly thereafter. I'm thinking he's Pureblood, but I guess you guys would know better then me. ^_^

In addition to the dogs, we also have a siamese cat named Zodiac, a ferret named Picasso, a rat named Karma, a hamster named Dex and a RES turtle named Void. All boys. I'm outnumbered! Lol.
