Hello from Indiana!
 

Hello Everyone,

My name is Kacy and I am a Vet Assistant in Indiana. I currently own a Blue Merle Australian Shepherd named Jasper. I decided to join this forum to learn as much about German Shepherds as I can before I own one myself. I want to be fully prepared (or as much as I can be) before I have another dog entering my life. I am looking to get a GSD in the next year or so. I want to give my current dog some time to mature and grow up before adding another dog. I hope to learn a lot here!

I was wondering if a show line or Working line would be best for me. My Aussie is a working line and I LOVE his drive. We exercise for at least 4 hours a day on weekdays and more on the weekends. Would that be enough for a working line GSD?

Welcome! I'm also trying to soak up as much info as possible before my first GSD (of my own) and this is the right place for it.

I think your daily work would be great for a working line GSD. Our working line GSD would love to work out that much, but between work, school and schedules we don't :o

Wow, I am impressed that you get 4 hours of exercise a day with your pooch. Perfect for a working line GSD. Too bad you are so far away I would send Fiona out with you for an hour.
