German Shepherd Dog Forums - Hello from Sarasota, Florida! :)

Hi everyone!!

My name is Sable and my husband's name is Max. We have been married three and a half years and just finally adopted our first dog together, a German Shepherd / Belgian Malinois mix who we have named Eva. :wub: She is estimated to be about four years old and was used as a breeder in Miami, then dumped :mad:

We have had her for about a month. About three weeks ago, we took her to the vet after trying to remedy her diarrhea for a week, and found out that she has Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency.

We are still having some behavioral problems with her - her last owner was a man, and we have reason to believe he beat her. As a result, she is very sensitive and nervous around my husband, but has bonded strongly to me. She was playing with my husband about a week ago and rolled over and hit her leg on a table, seemed to think he caused the pain, and has been afraid of him ever since. Two steps forward, three steps back!

I've been lurking on these forums for a while - started before we even got her! :) - and am excited to participate in the community!! :)
