Oh, hi there. :)

Greetings, everyone! I'm Natalie, 28 years old (but according to friends, I still look like a short 17 year old?) and I joined this forum because I am in the process of adopting my first German Shepherd. I used to have two yellow labs, brother and sister, but they passed away (brother in Sept. 2011, sis in Jan. 2012) due to old age and cancer. They were 13-13 and a half years old. I made a promise to them and myself that my next dog will be adopted.

I chose to look for a German Shepherd because I have grown up loving the way they looked. I also thought, as a kid, how tough and strong they looked when I would watch the K9 cop shows. Looking up more info on them made me want one even more. I hear that they can make significant others jealous of the relationship between the dog and the owner, due to how protective, loving, and loyal these breeds are. I'm looking for that in a dog. I've always loved dogs. They never judge you, they always love you.

So here I am. I've all ready done some extensive research on German Shepherds, but it's always good to read even more. This site seems like a perfect place for me to be. It'll be good to get to know you all, and share my journey with my future to be GS. Wish me luck this weekend. I am going to an adoption event where I put in my application, got a phone interview, and now get to meet the doggies.
