Hey everyone. Just thought I'd come register and post here. I'm currently dog-less now because my previous GSD had a sudden death due to gastric torsion a month back. Ever since I'm either grieving or looking for a new puppy to fill my life again.
Aside from that, I've had GSDs as pets for more than 20 years now. Both males and females, never bred them though. They've always been family members to me. That's it from me for now. I'll try to post some pics of my dogs another time

Welcome to the forum..sorry to hear of your loss,,,we lost our first GSD last xmas, suddenly as well, stroke we think,it still hurts,at the time i told my wife i didn`t want another, however without me knowing ,she went and got a pup three month later,Zola is now 9 month old and i`m so so glad my wife did what she did,,it helped so much for the loss and there are so many things that Zola does that reminds me so much of Sapphire,,,,, my advice is if you know you will be wanting another, then the sooner the better,,as i said before Welcome this is a great site,,,infact a brilliant site...

Zola must be a real bundle of fun! It's only a matter of time to get a new pup. But there are certain factors which prevent me from doing so now. Firstly my house is undergoing renovation so I'm staying in my uncle's apartment now and it's too small a place to keep such a big dog. The other problem I have is with my country's authorities. Recently there were some cases of big dogs, mostly Rottweilers biting people. So they've passed a law that all aggressive breed dogs (GSDs included) need a special license which includes taking up a mandatory $100,000 home insurance in case the dog decides to destroy property or bite someone. In addition there is a $2000 bond which you have to post to the government too which is automatically forfeited if any of the above happened. So it's kinda expensive to own GSDs now. The other problem I have is actually acquiring a puppy. And most breeders I've talked to online don't export their pups. While the only one willing to do so, had a seven month waiting period for pups cus they were only planning to breed every 3 months and the next mating was only in February, which means I only get to see the pup in July. So here I am, puppy-less for now
