Hi from Nebraska
We just recently got 2 german shepherd puppies that are an unrelated male and female. Diesel is a 9wk old male and Mercedes is an 11 wk old female. My husband and I didn't realize it wasn't something you shouldn't do, but we have been getting along great. I felt very confident in our decision and then I found your website and started reading some of the posts about having 2 puppies at once. Now my confidence is a bit shaky.
I am a stay at home mom, my children range from 13-21 so I only have 3 at home now. I have plenty of time and attention to give the new additions to our family. I am starting obedience training with them on the 15th. They are doing well with house training only a few accidents. I am also working on getting them to like the leash.. Diesel does well for the most part, but Mercedes is a bit stubborn. She is getting better all the time. I have just tried to be patient, I don't want to be a bad experience for her. I have gotten Mercedes to sit and wait for her food, Diesel is a work in progress. I am working to establish myself as the pack leader as my husband is gone 16-20 days a month at work.. I am sure I will have some questions as we go along. I hope to meet lots of new people and get a few helpful tips as well! Staci :) |
