Searching for my GSD
 

Hello all, I am seriously considering my lifetime dream of becoming a GSD owner, thus far I have visited with one kennel and have plans to visit a second. I live in Fort Collins Co. Can anyone recommend a GSD breeder I am a single woman, therefore I want my dog not only for companionship, but for protection as well. I am interested in Schutzhund training. Any suggestions on how to choose my dog?

I purchased my pup from Rocky Mountain German Shepherds. They are located in Conifer. There are quite a few breeders out here so depending on what you are looking for (Working Line or Show line) I would recommend visiting a couple of clubs that are doing schutzhund if you are interested in doing that.

I also recommend posting in the "Choosing a Breeder" section and list your location so that you can get input from others that have experience with breeders in Colorado or other areas that are close.

You might also want to look into Five Peaks German Shepherds in Elizabeth, CO. We just placed a deposit on one of Roy x Olivia's pups and Elaine has been really great to work with.

Hello all, I have been to Fivepeaks 2 weeks ago and Adel Haus is next on my list. I have a concern about Fivepeaks, however I got along famously with Elaine.

I think if you were seriously looking in to personal protection or schutzhund I would look at Adelhaus. They definitely work and title their dogs there.
I'm not sure if Five Peaks does, although I had spoken with Elaine before I got my pup and she was very nice on the phone.

Be careful, there is a HUGE difference between buying a title and titling a dog.
