Nice meeting you all!
Hello,
My name is Terry McCormack, I am a 25 year veteran Professional Working Dog trainer specializing in Service Dogs for disabled people. My breed of choice is the GSD although I do train other breeds for Service Dog work and I also train pets for basic OB and encourage training to the CGC level and beyond for pets. I also breed GSD's and have aspirations to close the gap between working and show line GSD's (A tall order I am aware but it is a dream of my late father who I apprenticed under and I would be proud to see his dream become a reality). I look forward to chatting with you all. If you would like to learn more about me and what I do, here is a link to my website. Saint Francis German Shepherd Service Dogs Nice meeting you all! |

Welcome to the board!
I was checking out your website and it says you are a "Regstered Certified Service Dog Trainer". I didn't know a person could become certified in SD training. Where did you get your certification? |
Quote:
I am registered (Licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts) I am also Certified by a 10 year hands on working dog apprenticeship. There are other ways to be certified as a Service Dog trainer. One is through ADI though a lot of good SD trainers do not agree with their methodology myself included; another way is from Service Dog Programs. Some other States like California Certify as well as license for Hearing and Guide Dog trainers. |
