This is Zoey who is about 15 months old, according to the GSD rescue group we got her from. She has been in a rough patch, wandering the streets, foxtails in her ears, tapeworms, who knows what else as it appeared she had been on the street for a while. Rescue group did the initial medical care and we go see our vet on Friday. I think there's still something going on with her ears, maybe another foxtail in there. And we'll do another fecal test to check to make sure those worms are gone.
She needs some meat on her bones and some muscle. She's pretty concave at the hips. She's loose-limbed in way I think puppies are and considering she's not really a puppy, I hope that won't be a problem for her.
I'm amazed at how easy she was on her first night. She slept in our room with us, deciding the dog bed was better than the floor about halfway through the night. No whining. No barking. I know that will change as she adjusts and lets her true personality come out. She is just so sweet, very willing to please, easily responds to corrections. She's mouthy so we'll be working on that. Not completely housebroken but learning to potty on command. She's a bit scared of the bells our last dog used to ring to go outside so I'm not pushing it.
She picked up sit, come, off pretty quickly.
We are absolutely smitten!
Not that it matters to us a bit, but does she look like a purebred?
