Hi my name is Susan and I Am so happy to be a member of this forum. It has been such a learning experience. It really seems like one big family and wow what a great feeling that is. So I want to thank everyone and wish you guys a Wonderful Holiday.
My boy Herro will be joining our family Dec 7th this Saturday, the excitement is unreal. He is 14months old has been brought up by his breeder, but has lived in a Kennel basically his entire life. He is very mild mannered when I visited him. I can't wait for the bonding process. So here are some pics. Hope you enjoy them. Oh forgot to say I have 2 cats also. One of them is very laid back and sweet, the other is a bit hyper. They will have their own room and I know the process of introduction is a slow one. Any helpful hints will be appreciated.
So here's Herro🐾🐾🐾

Two more days to go until Saturday!!! I bet you're getting really excited, I know I would be.

Your Herro is a very handsome boy, you're lucky you got to skip the potty training and everyone's favorite, "Landshark" stage.

Have fun bonding with him and up date us with Welcome home pictures :)

Went back and looked at your posts after the treat one. There is something called a Tail Waggin' Two Week Gettin' To Know Ya Method (I renamed it) and it helps dogs get used to their new surroundings:

Some misinterpret the idea of it - it is set up so as not to overwhelm a dog, not to throw everything at them at once, including ourselves. Like the idea of meeting someone in a coffee shop and having them trying to hug you all the time. Creepy! Let me know if you have questions - I may not be back so just post them and others will be able to answer as well. :)

For the cats, keep him leashed to you initially and when cats are around, he gets treats. Of course, treats as long as he's not lunging or barking, but I use that system with fosters and my cats and it actually backfires because they want to go and sit near the cats just to get treats. But much nicer to have that mistaken result than a dog hurting one of them!

Thanks so much. Happy Holiday to you!
