Just joined the forums on the advice of a breeder I recently talked to. I live in North MS near Memhis, TN. I recently hadd to put my male dog (14 years old) to sleep so I am looking to replace him. I've called numerous breeders in my area and am finding that all the quality puppies are "reserved". Was hoping to find a puppy relatively soon. I am willing to travel. If you can help, my email is amcgough@centurytel.net
thanks Al |

I don't know if you are willing to travel to Illinois but the breeder we got our pup from has litters all the time. Trinity Ranch Kennels is the name of the place and they are located in Longpoint, Illinois. I don't have her number in my phone but I think her number is on the website. Hope you find a puppy!

Hi Al, welcome to the forum! I know nothing about finding a GSD puppy, but I know they don't often fall in your lap.
There's a section on Finding a Breeder that might help you.

First, welcome! Second, what exactly are you looking for other than male? Do you want American lines? German Show Lines? Working lines? Are you looking for a pet? Or sport? Are you active? Personally, if I was that close, I would take a good look at Secoyah (sp?).

Welcome to the forum!
I would suggest you post a topic in the "Choosing a Breeder" section, and also provide some detail about what you are looking for in a dog in terms of physical and personality traits, your bloodline preference if you have one, and some info about yourself and your family and what type of activities, if any, you would want to participate in with the dog. That is the sort of information people will need to suggest a breeder who may be a good fit for you. Do be aware though that most good breeders have waiting lists, and if pups are available now or will be soon it is not uncommon for them to be already reserved as you've found so far in your search. So you may have to wait a while for the right pup to come along.

I've talked to Sherle at Sequoya. She recommended I join the forum. I am still working with her to see if something will come available. Good questions all. And thanks. I am not a breeder, so not looking for "show quality" stock. I am looking to replace a pet/companion/protetor/defender/good friend. Primarily a house dog, but I live on 5 acres, and am retired, so lots of outside time and exercise. I don't think that German vs American lines mean much to me. I am looking for quality and healthy.
thanks Al |
