Read the book, before and after your puppy. Take things slow with a GSD. They are extremly slow to develop in the mind and body. Look up nutrition and give the pup the right calicum levels and be sure the pup gets enough protien. I use Wendy Volhards NFD2. My pup is 15 months old and I still learn something I should have not done. Be a leader a calm assertive one. Learn this and this will be the biggest help in your relationship and the dogs behavior. The volhards also have a great video out on dogs. Dont let the puppy play with rough or aggressive dogs and avoid dog parks for a long time. Good luck and I hope that helps
