Good morning all. I am new here and just wanted to say hello. I am getting my first GSD in about a month. I am so excited to get her! Thank you all for all of the valuable information. I have learned so much on here.
Can anyone tell me if you know of a good trainer in the Huntsville area? ___________________________________ Tia - Pig/Twinkie (mixed rescue) Cats - Cricket, Mickey, Spartacus, Tiger, Josie, Ashton, Lily, Cooper & Tucker |

Goodmorning! I think she will be named Karly. I can't wait to get her home. I have wanted a GSD since I was a little girl. Not sure why but I have always been very drawn to them.

Welcome to you and Karly!
You will learn a lot from this forum, hopefully the month will go by fast. I was just curious what is Tia pig/twinkie mix? Boy you have a whole lot of kitties! I guess the more the merrier in your household, lol

Well thank you! I think it probably has more to do with the police dog from the sherriff's office that my dad used to work at. I was really little so I don't really remember.
Anyway, I do a lot of volunteer work for a local rescue group and have always had mixed dogs. I have not had the best of luck and actually decided that I am just going to be done with dogs. We found out a couple of months ago that our old dog, Tia, is not going to be around much longer as she is very sick. My husband suggested getting a GSD because he remembered me saying years and years ago that I always wanted one. At first I said no-way-Jose. Then I started reading and discovered that pretty much all of the problems I've had in the past with my rescue dogs has a lot to do with where they came from and their genes. I guess I never put much thought into that before. So, this leads me to the puppy that I always wanted. I've been doing a lot of reading which has honestly left me very confused at times! |

Ha! It's just a joke. She is a mixed breed and we have always said she is part Twinkie and part pig because that is really what she looks like. As far as the cats, well.....I just really love cats. I foster for a local rescue group and some of them are foster failures. I am done adopting cats! LOL You would not believe the amount of cat food and litter I go through! ___________________________________ Tia - Pig/Twinkie (mixed rescue) Cats - Cricket, Mickey, Spartacus, Tiger, Josie, Ashton, Lily, Cooper & Tucker |
