New to forum and first time owner

Hi Everyone!

I'm new to the forum and new to owning a GSD. Our dog's name is Rusty and I think he is some kind of mix with German Shepard. He was a stray that we have been taking care of for the past couple of months, so I don't know how old he is. Rusty has been living outside, but with winter coming I'd like to house train him so he can sleep inside the house.

About the family- there's me, my husband, and three small children (ages 7, 5, and 2). Rusty gets along great with the kids and he's very protective of the home.

I look forward to getting to know the community here. It looks like there's a lot of helpful information here
