New to the forum/first purebred!

Hi there! I "adopted" my first purebred shepherd over the weekend. I've always loved shepherds, my dog growing up was a GSD/Timber wolf cross. Smartest dog in the world! Hybrids are hard to come by and hard to have in a normal lifestyle these days.. But I still love shepherd mixes.

My lab-shep mix and I visited with the new guy for two weeks and brought him home Saturday!

He is supposed to have papers.. I don't have them yet. About 8 months old.. Currently 73 lbs!

He's lived outside all his life and never left the property(after being purchased as an 8wk old). He is afraid of EVERYTHING!

Luckily for me, he doesn't seem to have an aggressive bone in him, and although scared, he is doing well with socialization.

I look forward to training tips and other resources on this forum!

He's gorgeous!! Congrats on your new baby! He looks like my Xena! I also adopted my GSD. She was about 4 months.

Welcome to the forum! So glad you adopted. Isn't it amazing how resilient he already is? Eventhough he's scared he's socializing well. What a brave boy.

He went backpacking with me this weekend! He is doing great, definitely going to fit into our lifestyle. Just need to work on some separation anxiety and get a recall down pat.. Everything else will work itself out.
