Hello all my names Jared i am an new GSD owner and so far love it even though she test's my nerves. Riley is approx 5-6 months old dont really know due to pup being abandoned in an mall parking lot attached to my truck. Just looking forward to learning about this breed and other things since ive owned Lab's all my life. I am an FF/Paremedic and thinking of training her to be an cadaver or arson detection canine. below is an picture of my gorgeous girl.

Welcome and good for you for rescueing (sp?--lazy) her. You'll find that she is going to be smarter than any Lab. GSDs are "ooky smart"
![]() When I first read your title heading I giggled to myself and thought 5-6 months old..."please keep your hands and feet in the vehicle at all times and enjoy the ride" The more you teach her the happier she'll be.

Hi Hooka and welcome and she is a pretty girl but your going to fall in love with this breed. I did about 7 dogs ago and I would never have another kind and your going to love this website. These are great people with tons of knowledge. Ask any questions you need help with. They can be little land sharks as puppies and if she is an indoor dog expect guarding in the bathroom to protect from the evil septic monster and expect a nose poking into the shower curtain when your trying to bath. hehe

Welcome Jared and Riley!
Thanks for sharing your story and for rescuing your girl! I'm sure she's already wrapped around your heart! You'll learn a lot from this forum, there is even a member here that's training her dogs in cadaver detection. Be sure to post more pictures!
