Hiya from Iowa!

Hi there! Today I adopted a 6.5 month old Shepherd named Maverick.

He is weighing in at about 68 pounds. I ran across him on Craigslist and was just with an owner who didn't have the time for him. So, after much begging of the husband, we packed up and drove 45 min to see him. It was love at first sight for sure.

He came right up to me and started "talking" in little grunts, wagging his tail, and just being happy. He is already housebroken and knows how to sit, lay, play dead, and shake. He is already "leash trained" too but I use that lightly since he pulls awful bad. We're gonna start working on that.

German Shepherds have always been my favorite dogs. I already have a poodle mix who is 12 named Chloe and my husband has a bloodhound named Chuck. Maverick gets along GREAT with Chuck! They played for a while together. Chloe is a different story. She's just old and set in her ways lol. But I digress...

I've enjoyed reading over all the stories and such here and know you all will be a great resource.
