Hello from Madison, WI

Good morning! I've been reading the forum for quite sometime now. I think it's time to introduce myself and my baby.

I'm located in Madison, WI. My puppy, Leif, is 7 1/2 months black/red GSD. We got him from Mittelwest in June. He was technically a "replacement" puppy after our first one, Karo, died unexpectedly from a heart defect 5 days after we got him home. Julie and Grant from Mittelwest were very kind and help us throughout this difficult time. We decided to get another puppy right away to help ease the pain. At first we weren't so sure about Leif. We picked him because he had great eye contact with us, followed us around. I guess we just clicked. The down side was that he was the smallest pup in the litter, just 14 lbs when we took him home at 11 weeks. Our vet said that he will fill up just fine.

He is now 62 lbs. I'm feeding him Orijen; rotating between adult, 6 fish and RR (still struggling with how much to feed before his poop turns to pudding.

So far so good at 3.5-4 cups per day). Here he is!!

I'm glad that Leif has helped in the loss of your first pup. Sounds like your breeder was a great help to you. My first GSD's dam was from Mittelwest.
He's a cute pup, post more pics!

Hello from Northern WI!

He is real handsome.

My Storm is ~95 lbs. I give him 1.5 cups Royal Canin and yogurt, with a little boiled hamburger in the morning and again in the evening. I would say that is no more than 2 lbs per day, but have never weighed it. He seems to maintain well with that amount. He gets snacks also.

@BWCA Shepherd, thank you for the info. I might reduce the amout of food down to around 3-3.5 cups in a few month. Will post more pics soon!

Hello from Buffalo, NY. Your puppy is cute! I lived in Madison for 9 years. My gsd and rottie cross and I loved to walk/hike at all of the dog parks!
