Hello! 20wk old pup / total newb at this

Hello everyone,
I am slightly new to this! I have a 20 week old female. This is my first time raising my very own dog. She is sooo wonderful! We seem to be doing good so far. Got her when she was 12 wks, took about 3 weeks to potty train, knows the basic commands, and her temperament is amazing. She loves people AND other dogs.

If anyone has any advice for a newb like myself on.. well.. anything.. Please share! It's been a learning experience for her AND me!

Welcome to the forum. You have time to decide about the spay. Please read up on early spay/neuter pros/cons. We can only offer advise, but in the end it is you that must decide what is best for you and your dog.

I will tell you what I do, as an option. I do not like to see early spay or neuter. I like to see a dog finish growing and maturing before being altered. No earlier than 18months. With that said, if you cannot be absolutely sure that she will not become pregnant before that, then you should spay before that time.

Some people chose not to spay/neuter at all. And their animals NEVER have an oops litter. It is all about management.

Are you taking obedience classes some place? That is always something good to do. Great for socialization for both of you and its fun. Make sure the training is based on positive reinforcement.

And it is a requirement of this board that you post pictures!! HAHA just kidding, but would love to see your girl. And what is her name? Do you know her breeding?
